Tailor's chalk is great for marking pattern pieces, darts, gather lines etc... on dark coloured fabrics. It's easy to use and simply wipes off, and if it gets blunt you can sharpen it with a knife.
Of all the methods for marking your fabric pieces, tailor's chalk really is the most temporary, it wipes off very quickly, so if you want your marks to stay put whilst you manipulate your fabrics, pinning, sewing, ironing and more, then we recommend using a disappearing ink pen - click here.
