You don't need any formal sewing training to sign up for this one, but we will be jumping straight in with our first project so these basic skills are a must:
- Threading a machine,
- winding the bobbin,
- sewing straight lines (as comfortable as anyone is with the straight lines!).
Absolute beginners are advised to check out our 5 week introduction to sewing course (which includes these projects) or our original learn to sew in a Saturday course, a great foundation for this one.
During this class you will:
- tackle sewing curves
- sew darts
- learn about topstitching and edge stitching
- learn about interfacing
- find out more about zips and learn to insert one.
- a reversible bag
- a zip up pouch - perfect for pens, sewing essentials or make-up.
What is included:
We will provide all the equipment you need, thread and fabrics etc... as well as refreshments and cake!
All materials are included and you can choose your fabrics from across our store.
You can use one of our sewing machines, or if you already have one, bring your own - there is nothing like learning to sew on your own machine. The only other thing you need to bring is your lunch :-)
Attend both our Learn to Sew in Just One Saturday classes and get 10% off purchases and sewing school bookings for 6 months.
WHO: Classes are kept to a maximum of 4 people, if you have your own sewing machine you are encouraged to bring it, there is nothing like learning on your own machine, but you can use one of ours.
WHERE: Courses are held in Duckington, just outside of Witney. There is on-site parking and no stairs to navigate.
