Our intermediate dressmaking childrens clothes course is designed to take your sewing to the next level!
Weeks 1-2 - Leggings or Trousers with proper pockets!
- We will cover reading patterns, making pattern pieces, cutting fabrics, seam finishes and using elastic.
Weeks 2-4 - Tailored shirt, girl's blouse with pretty collar or a dress with buttons on the back
- Adding sleeves, dealing with collars and buttonholes!
Week 4 and beyond - BONUS!
- If you manage to finish both your projects early you can spend the final week making a skirt with jean style inset pockets, or tackle one of the other projects not taken up earlier in the course, you may not get the garment finished in one evening, but we will get you along way towards completion - if you don't manage to get the third item started, don't panic, you will get a pattern of your choice and fabrics to take home and complete at your leisure.
The course includes all the materials needed to complete 3 projects.
Receive 10% off all store purchases made during the course.
WHO: This course is designed for people who already know their way around a sewing machine and feel reasonably confident sewing straightlines, back stitching, threading a machine etc.. If you have your own sewing machine you are encouraged to bring it, there is nothing like learning on your own machine (or you can use one of ours).
WHERE: Course are held in Witney or Ducklington depending on class size and your own needs.
WHEN: As this is a bespoke course we will agree a day and time to suit you. We are able to offer slots during the daytime or evening, or at weekends. Each lesson takes approx 2.5 hours. Email us at email@example.com to check out our availability before booking.
WHAT IS A ONE TO ONE OR MORE COURSE?
If you can't make one of our group courses, or would like to complete a workshop or course which isn't currently running as a group course, then a 'one to one or more' course might be just what you need!
We are happy to teach all our group courses to individuals, or small groups of friends, find the course you are interested in, and view the price for the number of people who want to learn together above. Contact us to select a date and time to suit your schedule and we can take it from there - once a date has been set you can pay in one go using the website, or we can divide the cost between the participants and invoice you all separately (the only days/times we can never do are Monday or Tuesday mornings).
If your group is larger than 4 no problem, if you are able to provide a venue then the overall cost of the course will go up by £125 for every additional participant. If you would like us to provide a venue there is a flat rate of £240 for that (remember, if your group is 4 or less the venue cost is already covered). If any of this is unclear please do ask, we are happy to provide a quote.
KEY TERMS & CONDITIONS
Payment is required at the point of booking your place on one of our workshops or sewing courses.
In you need to cancel up to 3 weeks before the start of the class,we will offer you the choice of transferring to another date, or a refund minus a £15 cancellation fee (if we manage to sell the place this reduces to £5).
If you need to cancel within 3 weeks of the start date, we are sorry but we cannot offer you a refund or transfer. With less than 3 week's notice it is difficult for us to fill places and it isn't fair on other people who would have liked a place, had they had more notice. We can put you on a reserve list for a future date, and if we still have spaces 3 weeks before the start of a course, we will slot you in at no additional cost.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us - email firstname.lastname@example.org, call 01993 700411, or pop along to one of our pop-up shops (click here for details) to meet us in person and find out more!
